Even small interruptions can be assigned to projects correctly

This web design agency keeps track of projects as well as distractions like emails and phone calls - for accurate client billing and consistent profitability.
Nikos Karapanagiotidis

Owner, MEDIENPRODUKTION

Hi Nikos. What is your company MEDIENPRODUKTION specialized in?

Nikos: We are a web design agency based in the Stuttgart area, we create websites with focus on the client's goals. That is besides generating leads and sales, optimizing proposal and appointment requests like doctors and lawyers need. We try to do all this with as little technical jargon as possible.

Why are accurate times important to you?

Nikos: There are exactly 3 reasons: To calculate projects more accurately, to monitor projects better and of course for accurate billing.
If time tracking is not accurate, you are acting on perceived values in these areas.
In short, without accurate time recording, you are blind as a bat.

People easily forget – or are distracted by e-mails, phone calls or colleagues.

What problem did you have with time tracking?

Nikos: We had a few tools in use before that. Horrible integrations in project administrations that were simply not user-friendly. Tools that are not easy to use are also not popular. In time recording, this results in inaccurate times. Then there is the human factor. People forget, are distracted by e-mails, phone calls or colleagues. When things get hectic, at best you notice at the end of the day that the stopwatch is still running. Sometimes, however, not until the next day ...

How was Memtime able to solve the problem?

Nikos: With Memtime, you don't have to think about it anymore, because time tracking runs automatically in the background. Thanks to the clear display of active programs and documents, you can see exactly when you were working on which project. Even small interruptions can be assigned to the right project. Nothing gets lost in the heat of the moment.

How did you experience the introduction of Memtime? Was there an integration with other software?

Nikos: We introduced Memtime almost simultaneously with Moco. Moco is excellent in all disciplines to manage projects - from proposal to invoice. While researching Moco, we also came across Memtime. Automatic time tracking was quite appealing. Linking the two tools was so straightforward that I honestly barely remember it. Projects were imported automatically at the first go, the assignment is self-explanatory. It doesn't take long and then you're in, I'd say.

The benefit? I would like to quote the movie 'Without Limit': I was blind, but now I can see.

If a friend asked you why they should try Memtime - what would you tell them?

Nikos: A quote from the movie Without Limit: "I was blind, but now I can see".
In fact, a friend told me the other day that time tracking with Excel is to be introduced at his company. This gave him a headache. He still remembered that I had raved to him about my solution some time ago.
The combination with Memtime and Moco simply works. Both are implemented quickly, the costs for both tools are totally acceptable. Thanks to the Memory Aid you don't forget a single thing. It just works.
